Pilot boarding/drop place - Yuzhny pilot station (46-33-5N 31-01-0E). Channel/port pilotage – obligatory. Restrictions: No official LOA/Beam restrictions; max ever experienced: LOA – 215m, Beam – 32.5 m LOA>215 m (up to panamax size) - portcall is possible with port/channel authority permission only. LOA>200m - no night traffic via the channel. LOA>187m - escorting tug needed for day& night traffic via the channel. Max draft at approaching channel: 9,2m fw. Lengths of piers: Northern pier – 323m, Eastern pier – 234m, Southern pier – 550m, Western pier – 300m; Max draft at piers – up to 10.0m fw;
Mooring operations – daytime only. River channel Escorting tug in priority to escort is m/t 'Haydamaka' 3000hp. Usual escorting time for one way 10hrs (5hrs vessel escort+5hrs tug return). Channel traffic/entrance prohibited during fog, mist, snowfall, heavy shower, and other conditions when leading beacons or leading lights are not visible well and in case wind speed exceeds 15 m/sec. Ice campaign restrictions: 1. vessels permitted to proceed via the channel without restriction: ice class vessels with steel propeller and main engine over 2000hp and under age of 20years. 2. vessels permitted to proceed via the channel with scheduled group ice convoy under shipowners risk: non ice class vessels with bronze propeller and/or main engine 1500-2000hp and/or over age of 20years. 3. vessels permitted to proceed via the channel with individual ice convoy only under shipowners risk: all sea-river type and/or other non ice class vessels, main engine less 1500hp which will not be able to arrange necessary speed over 8knots.
