Channel/port pilotage – obligatory. Restrictions: No official LOA/Beam restrictions; max ever experienced: LOA – 140m, Beam – 16 m Max air draft for bridges: ‘Varvarovskiy’ bridge – 13.5m, ‘Ingulskiy’ bridge – 11.0m Max draft at approaching channel/berth: 6,40m fw. Mooring operations – daytime only. Escorting tug – compulsory for approaching channel (10nm). River channel Channel traffic/entrance prohibited during fog, mist, snowfall, heavy shower, and other conditions when leading beacons or leading lights are not visible well and in case wind speed exceeds 15 m/sec. Approaching channel / escorting tug Usual escorting time for one way 6hrs (3hrs vessel escort+3hrs tug return). Approaching channel traffic prohibited during night time, fog, mist, snowfall, heavy shower, and other conditions when leading beacons or leading lights are not visible well and in case wind speed exceeds 15 m/sec. Ice campaign restrictions: 1. vessels permitted to proceed via the channel without restriction: ice class vessels with steel propeller and main engine over 2000hp and under age of 20years. 2. vessels permitted to proceed via the channel with scheduled group ice convoy under shipowners risk: non ice class vessels with bronze propeller and/or main engine 1500-2000hp and/or over age of 20years. 3. vessels permitted to proceed via the channel with individual ice convoy only under shipowners risk: all sea-river type and/or other non ice class vessels, main engine less 1500hp which will not be able to arrange necessary speed over 8knots.
